Mothers...

Just a quick drop in to post the other Mother's Day card I made for my MIL. Here it is! Shabby chic as usual. I just adore shabby style these days. I printed out old sheet music for the background and embossed a kraft tag. I then cut Daisy D's paper into rough square(ish) shapes and embossed, added felt, flowers, buttons, tulle, ribbon and a little touch of ink here and there! Voila. Not sure this photograph does it justice but nevermind!

It's my DH's birthday tomorrow so I'll have another card to share soon ;-)

Thanks for dropping in x

Happy Mother's Day!...

It's Mother's Day here in the UK so I thought I'd wish you all a 'Happy Day'! I was truly spoilt by my lovely girls (and DH!).

I'm a bit late as it's been a bit of a manic day beginning with a trip to A&E with DD2 who managed to hit her head quite badly this morning - she pulled a very heavy wooden chair down on herself which left her with a large bump and instant bruise as well as a nasty graze to her chin where she hit the floor/carpet :-( So not nice but she seems OK and we were pleased we took her to A&E to be checked out just to be sure.

She's just so into everything right now and desperate to do things she simply can't yet. So, as a result we are getting lots of bruises and falls and frustrations as she stands up on things that won't support her weight, or she pulls over etc etc. I think it comes from being a second child and just wanting to be like her almost 4 year old big Sister!!

Anyway, I'm not blogging very much as you can tell. I just find it hard to fit it in to be honest but will be backwards and forwards when I can.

Leaving you with the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day. I made another for my MIL which I'll show shortly. In shabby chic style - how I love it!

And, also the nice thing is.... Spring is here at last - you can feel it in the air and it's so lovely to see the Spring flowers blooming and the cherry blossom coming out. DD1 in particular is noticing the seasons properly for the first time - she plays spot the 'blossom tree' when we are out and about and seems to have a genuine love for flowers and nature!

So, enough of my ramblings.... Bye for now - thanks for popping by x

Chickenpox...!

Just a quick one as DD1 has chickenpox! So no doubt DD2 will follow suit shortly. I actually think I'm losing the plot - you know how it is when you are cooped (sp?) up with two small children for days on end!!!! Arghhh!
Other than that, life is OK. Busy but then that's life with two youngsters I guess! Not much time for crafting right now :-(

I shall leave you with a card I made for one of DD1's little friends - quite self explanatory - hope she likes it - think I went a bit overboard with the decoration but oh well! It's this girl's birthday this weekend. DD1 has been invited to two parties this weekend but I guess we'll have to see how the dreaded CPs are by then (she missed one party last week and the tears were overflowing!) - I'm hoping they'll be OK as it will be around 12 days or so by then and we've had no new little critters for two days now ;-)

Question for you, how do you deal with CP in a 9 month old baby???
Thanks for dropping by x

LO & other bits...

Gosh, it's been ages since I've updated this blog! I'm sure you know how it is!

I've been crafting so very little at the moment (two little people keep stealing my time ;-))! I do have a few cards but can't show them yet as they are for people who sometimes peek at my blog! So, I thought I'd show a couple of LOs. I'm so far back with my scrapping it's scary! And I was nearly up to date before DD2 was born lol!

Anyway, I completed this a while back but never did share. I'm not the most talented scrapper I've ever come across but I like to think my LOs are full of love, and the all important information for my girls to look back on! I really adore single photo LOs without journalling and just a stylish splash of embellies (and I have completed the v odd one like that myself), but if you want to 'tell a story' then that's not really what it's about in my eyes. I want my girls to be able to look back at my LOs and understand what was going on or what I was thinking. And sometimes, LOs really don't look so pretty with lots of photos or journalling - sigh!

This was last Easter (08), my, how my lovely DD1 has grown since then - she still looks sooo young on there! Fairly bright LO (well, Easter is 'bright' isn't it - well actually, it wasn't this particular year, it snowed!!). The lovely felt bunnies are from my DH - he got them from Paperchase as part of my Easter present. Since completing this LO, I've actually stopped scrapping in 12 x 12 - I just found it too time consuming and so I've started doing a lot more 8.5 x 11 LOs - I really like these - firstly, albums take up less room, secondly, you can print onto them easily (hurrah) and thirdly, they don't seem to take as long to make (that HAS to be a bonus!)...

Supplies:
Bazzill c/s
American Crafts pp
Felt
Cuttlebug asterix dies
Felt bunnies - as above
Oval stamp - SU
Dymo tape - ATB
Pen - Sakura

Thanks for looking :-) Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday Grandpa...!

Well, actually, his birthday was a few weeks ago but I hadn't got to showing you the card I made him from the Girls. This was a very touchy feely card - the mat on the lettering was felt which I roughly hand cut. Quite pleased with this one - like the antique, shabbiness to it.

Supplies:
DCWV papers - Old World Stack
Base Camp Cricut alphas
Beige felt - Craft Planet
Brown ink - Versamark
Antique brad from stash
String
Papertrey Ink sentiment stamp

It's been so busy since DD1 went back to preschool - where has the time gone since Christmas?? I've done so little crafting - did manage to squeeze in one scrapbook LO which I'll share at some point. I have quite a few birthdays coming up from Feb - May (that's my busiest time for them and boy, is it busy!) so I need to get on - problem is, once the Girls are in bed I'm just shattered and really can't get motivated!!

We are desperate for a family break and have been looking at brochures (well, I have!) but unfortunately because of various things going on this year, it looks like we won't get a 'summer sun' break (we missed out last year too with me being pregnant. We did Disney in late Sept but anyone who has been will know that, although it is just fantastic, it's very very tiring!!). So, we've decided to sneak a quick week in a Center Parcs (Whinfell) in May - it's provisionally booked but not 100% sorted yet. It's a place we've always thought about going since we had children but never quite gotten around to, and with not being able to get abroad this year, (well, certainly not until the latter part of the year) it seems the ideal solution! It certainly looks fabulous especially since they have new lodges now which are the ultimate in luxury - steam rooms, hydrobaths etc - wow (I can't wait!!).

I hope all is well with you and yours, thanks for popping by.
